St. Frances Cabrini: Outreach to Reach Out! 💗 update #2

Outreach to Reach Out!

“To be of service is to become bigger than the way we normally see ourselves. Our attention shifts. We set aside our preoccupation with ourselves and turn our focus outwards, towards others.”

SFC’s Outreach to Reach Out has been doing just that. As long as the needs of our parish community exist, we will be there to help. Our Outreach program has been busy this month!

We thank our SFC school families who graciously helped restock our SVdP food pantry. Because of the schools ongoing efforts to stock the pantry, our outreach program is able to bag groceries needed for the surrounding community.

A special shout out to the Gamez family who with the help of Blue Rock BBQ on June 1st, provided 50 meals to the LifeMoves program in San Jose. LifeMoves shelters mothers and their children, working with them to find solutions to homelessness. With the generous donation from the Gamez family we were also able to partner once again with Double D’s of Los Gatos the following day to provide an additional 90 meals to a local foster care program. Thank you Blue Rock BBQ! Thank you Double D’s!

SFC’s SVdP Outreach continues to help with groceries. If you know of families in need, please call SVdP. If you are able to donate to sustain this important ministry of serving those during these difficult times, reach out!

Outreach to Reach Out!

It has been a little over 2 months since a mandate from the Diocese of San Jose temporarily suspended all masses, gatherings, & events and with that, SFC’s doors quietly closed. But our hearts did not! This community is rich in spirit and determination! Our SVdP Outreach program is working behind the scenes; always keeping an ear open to those in need and for those whom we wish to thank.

On May 13th, SFC’s SVdP partnered with Blue Rock BBQ in providing delicious bag lunches for staff at Good Samaritan Hospital. Thank you front and center staffers!

On May 18th, 100 meals provided by Blue Rock were delivered and handed out to those at the Camden Acute Center. Thank you Blue Rock BBQ!

St. Frances Cabrini may look quiet at the front but behind the scenes, we have been busy!

On April 20th, St. Frances Cabrini’s St. Vincent de Paul Outreach alongside SFC’s Ladies League and Men’s Club partnered with The Garrett in Campbell to thank our front-line workers at the Stanford Blood Center in Campbell. On May 1st, Double D’s Sports Grille joined SFC in providing 50 box lunches to a local foster care center. On May 2nd, 90 box lunches were delivered to elderly residents in Los Gatos.

It is a small part of a larger picture that can see St. Frances Cabrini delivering food and lunches to those in need. If you or someone you know would benefit from having groceries, please, reach out!

For the month of May, we have a wonderful opportunity to pair with elementary, middle grade, and high school-age children at local schools, providing them and their families with a bag of groceries.

Coming up, Blue Rock BBQ has graciously come on board to make sure the staff at Good Samaritan Hospital are provided lunch.

Donations are welcome and appreciated! If you can donate to sustain this important ministry of serving those during these difficult times, reach out!

🙏 🙏🏼 🙏🏾 A prayer of hope to Our Lady of Guadalupe during these pandemic times

Prayer to the Virgin of Guadalupe

O Virgin of Guadalupe, Mother of the Americas, grant to our homes the grace of loving and respecting life in its beginnings, with the same love with which you conceived in your womb the life of the Son of God. Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Fair love, protect our families so that they may always be united and bless the upbringing of our children.

Our hope, look upon us with pity, teach us to go continually to Jesus, and if we fall help us to rise again and return to him through the confession of our faults and our sins in the sacrament of penance, which gives peace to the soul.

We beg you to grant us a great love of all the holy sacraments, which are, as it were, the signs that your Son left us on earth. Thus, Most Holy Mother, with the peace of God in our consciences, with our hearts free from evil and hatred, we will be able to bring to all others true joy and true peace, which come to us from your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who with the Father and the Holy Spirit, lives and reigns for ever and ever.

Amen.
